In the English language, there are over millions of words. Did you know? these mentioned words have the same meaning but used in a different way.

1. House vs Home:- घर. 


➡ Home:- This term is used for a joint family with many rooms or it also used in the sense of hometown where someone belongs to.


For example:- I am going back to my home. 


➡ House:- This term is used for nuclear families having one or two rooms or an apartment or a building.


For example:- I have purchased a new house.


2. Buy vs Purchase:- खरीदना. 


Buy:- This word is usually used when you bought something inexpensive of a small amount.

For example:- I will buy a notebook.

➡ Purchase:- It is used when someone bought something expensive which is bought by giving a large amount of money.


For example:- She purchased a house.


3. Listen vs Hear:- सुनना. 

Listen:- This term is used when there is understandable sound.

For example:- I am listening to you.

➡ Hear:- This term is used when there is a non-understandable sound.


For example:- I heard a sound.


4. Rent vs Fare:- किराया. 


➡ Rent:- It is used when you are paying for the house or the apartment where you live by paying money.


For example:- My father gives rooms in rent.

➡ Fare:- It is used when you are paying the money to any vehicle owner for traveling in their vehicle like a train, auto, taxi, etc.

For example:- The fare of flights gets increased during festivals.


5. Ray vs beam:- किरण. 
These words are also the most confusing in English.

Ray:- It is used for the ray of the sun.


Beam:- It is used for the beam of the moon.


6. Roar vs Thunder:- गरज. 

➡ Roar:- It is used when someone makes a loud, deep sound or to shout something very loudly.


For example:- I heard a roar of a lion.


➡ Thunder:- This verb is used when you hear the loud noise in the sky that you can hear when there is a storm that usually comes after lightning in the sky.


For example:- I can hear the thunder of lightning.


7. See vs Look vs Watch:- देखना. 

➡ See:- This verb means to notice or become aware of something or someone by using your eyes (usually stable things).


For example:- Can you see what's going on there?

➡ Look:- This verb is used when you are watching something continuously.

For example:- Why are you looking at me?

➡ Watch:- It is used when someone is looking at someone or something, usually something which is moveable like movies.

For example:- I am watching a new Bollywood movie.



8. Bank vs Shore vs Coast vs Border:- किनारा. 

➡ Bank:- The term "bank" is a place where the land meets the river water.

For example- Amit sat on the river bank.

➡ Shore:- The shore is the land at the edge of a sea or lake or another large area of water.

For example:- The water gets quite shallow towards the shore.

➡ Coast:- The border between land or sea or lake on a larger scale than the shore.

For example:- I usually like to sit on the sea coast.
